The Body likewise approved Resolution No. 01122-23 and its corresponding Ordinance on Second Reading, both Series of 2023, for the passage of an Ordinance amending City Ordinance No. 0546-21, Series of 2021, Establishing the Davao City Inventions and Innovation Center, Defining its Powers and Functions, and for Other Purposes.
Resolution Nos. 01123-23 to 01140-23, all Series of 2023, were adopted on Second Reading, favorably endorsing the Accreditation with the City Government of Davao of eighteen (18) associations in Davao City, namely: Philippine Family Farmers Agriculture Fishery Forestry Cooperatives Federation, Talikala Inc., Piapi Muslim Seaside Fisherfolk Association (PMSFA), Barangay 21-C Fisherfolks Association, MAJAD Fisherfolk Women’s Association, Lizada Beach Fisherfolks Home Settlers Association, Fisherman Village Fisherfolks Women’s Association, Lizada Fisherfolks Informal Settlers Women Association, Lizada Ornamental Fish Growers Association, Daliao Kanipaan Fisherfolks Welfare Association, Daliao Andaya Fishvendor and Fisherfolks Association, Purok 3A Riverside Fish Farmer Association, Piapi Muslim Seaside Women’s Fisherfolk Association, Task Force Kasanag, Inc., Lizada Village Fisherfolks Association, Tambongon Fisherfolks Association, Barangay Sentro Fisherfolks Association, and Samuel Village Landas Compound Fisherfolks Home Settlers Association, respectively.

Finally, upon sponsorship of Councilor Myrna G. L’Dalodo-Ortiz, Resolution No. 01155-23, Series of 2023, was adopted by the Body requesting the City Mayor to create a Technical Working Group (TWG) for the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA)-Assisted Projects in Davao City.

]]>In view of the Body’s invitation, Atty. Victoria Lu, President of Apo Agua Infrastructura, Inc., provided updates regarding the Bulk Water Supply Project in Davao City, which is targeted to be operational by June 2023. The over P13-Billion project will deliver 300 million liters of water daily to DCWD. Apo Agua’s bulk water supply system adopts the water-energy nexus concept, where a run-of-river hydroelectric plant will power the water treatment facilities.

Meanwhile, the candidates of the Reyna Dabawenya, Mr. and Ms. LGU Davao 2023 and Mutya ng Dabaw paid a courtesy call at the Session Hall of the Sangguniang Panlungsod, through the Privilege Hour of Councilor Al Ryan S. Alejandre. After a two-year hiatus, the City Government of Davao through the Davao City Tourism Operations Office finally present to Dabawenyos the founding anniversary in full circle. Thus, these three major events of the City will be having its Coronation night this upcoming March 15-17, 2023, respectively.
